Italian Suited Decks + Tarot Meaning of 5 of Clubs and 5 of Diamonds

Italian Suited Decks

These were the first tarot decks to be created, appearing in the 15th century in northern Italy. There are three decks in this category that are still used to play specific games:

The Tarocco Piemontese is made up of four suits: swords, batons, cups, and coins, each led by a king, queen, cavalier, and jack, plus the pip cards, for a total of 78 cards. In most games, Trump 20 outranks 21 and the Fool is numbered 0 despite not being a trump.

The Swiss 1JJ Tarot is similar, but the Pope is replaced by Jupiter, the Popess by Juno, and the Angel by the Judgement. The trumps are ranked numerically, and the Tower is referred to as the House of God. The cards, unlike the Tarocco Piemontese, are not reversible.

The Tarocco Bolognese omits numeral cards two through five in simple suits, leaving 62 cards, and has somewhat different trumps, not all of which are numbered and four of which are equal in rank. Because it was not developed from the Tarot of Marseilles, it has a distinct pictorial style than the two above.

 5 of Clubs

This is the 5 of Clubs from our standard deck of playing cards. The Five of Clubs is a tarot card that indicates that triumph is close at hand. It beats the drums and blows the trumpets: don't stop now! Set your sights on success!

The 5 of Club is a young soul who is never satisfied with the answers they discover. Versatile, restless, inquisitive; continually searching with an ever changing mind; the 5 of Club is a youthful soul who is never satisfied with the answers they find. They want frequent mobility and extensive travel, preferring to go anyplace rather than stay there.

The optimistic inhabitants of this card struggle against their natural restlessness, which would otherwise distract them from establishing a strong foundation. Those 5 members of Club will then decide to educate themselves in a field that interests them and follow it to completion.

Because the 5 of Club are prone to envy and distrust, marriage is never easy for them. They also have shifts in their mental views toward their spouse, causing the marriage to fall apart.

The Five of Club must find a way to channel their innate zeal. If they want to prosper in life, they must first have an education. Peace of mind comes from a willingness to embrace their lives as they must be lived — productively!

5 of Diamonds

This is the 5 of Diamonds from our standard deck of playing cards. The Five of Diamonds is a card representing reconciliation in the Tarot. Couples make a commitment to be together for better or worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health.

These individuals have a strong sense of money, and when it's seen as a means rather than an aim, they generally have enough of it.

Limitations and constraints in terms of their financial security arise as a result of troublesome health or a debilitating physical ailment; issues with children; or a loved one dealing with unshareable tribulations.

The Five of Diamonds must select a path and stay on it. They must look for a position in life where they can forget about themselves and contribute, and they must learn to let go of their insecurity. They must also avoid establishing a parallel universe that is not in line with the reality of people around them!

Fun Fact:

The United States Playing Card Company (USPCC) are said to be the biggest manufacturer of playing cards in the world, and a top choice for many casinos.

Recognize any of these brands: Aviator, Bee, Tally-Ho? Yup, they’re all made by the USPCC, as well as those famous (or infamous) Bicycle cards we mentioned earlier.

The Belgian company Cartamundi also posts a rival claim to be the largest card manufacturer in the world. But they make many varieties of card games in different markets than the USPCC.
