Buoyancy: The first step for the Marine Educator is to ensure that the guest is safe, which means putting on a life vest. We also provide our clients with a second life vest to depend on for added buoyancy. Once we're in the water, we either grasp their hand or hang on to their life jacket to keep them safe and close to us. Taking the effort to correctly fit the vest not only guarantees that it will work effectively, but it also reassures the guest. Explaining why you're tightening the straps and how the vest will keep them perfectly buoyant in the water helps reassure the guests. Keeping the good conversation continuing also helps to divert their attention away from their nervous thoughts.

Every year, we make more than 381 million tons of plastic waste, which is a lot of waste. Plastic waste harms the environment, puts ocean animals in danger, and makes the world warmer. There have been a lot of calls for us to stop using plastic. By 2034, we are expected to be producing more than 700,000,000 tons of plastic waste every year.
